Elizabeta sighs, staring out her window at the town. She begins softly singing, a song only she can hear. She closes her eyes, wishing she was someone else, somewhere else. Liza stops singing, opening her eyes one more. She still stands in her bedroom, gazing down at her kingdom. She looks down at her body, finding herself in the same dress as moments ago.

“Why?!” she shouts, flinging herself on her bed. Her door opens and one of her parent’s slaves walks in.

“Everything okay, Princess?” the woman asks kindly.

“Yes, I’m okay,” Liza replies, sitting up to look at her.

“Alright. I’ll be on my way,” she says timidly, her voice shaking.

“No! Wait. Come in,” Liza tells her.

The woman waits, staring at Liza.

“Here, sit down,” the brunette tells her, moving aside. The slave walks over and timidly sits on the Princess’s bed.

“I won’t hurt you; I’m not like my parents, I swear,” the Princess whispers. The woman nods.

“What’s your name?” she asks softly.

“S-Samantha,” the woman replies.

“That’s a beautiful name,” Liza says softly.

“T-Thank you, Princess,” Samantha whispers.

“You don’t have to call me Princess. I hardly feel like one, being locked up all the time,” Elizabeta sighs.

“Why haven’t you ever thought to run away? If you don’t mind me asking.”

“Don’t be afraid to ask me anything. I’ve thought about it. But with all the guards, how might I run away?” Liza ponders.

“Don’t you have a power?” Samantha continues.

“Only moving things with my mind,” Liza sighs.

“Really? Have you ever tried more?” the woman asks.

“No… I’m afraid to. Afraid what evil powers I may have,” the princess counters.

“Come on. Let’s try. For me. I’d hate to see you be trapped here forever,” Samantha declares.

“Alright,” Liza agrees.

“So… what do we do?” Samantha asks, standing.

“I’m not sure,” Liza tells her. To think, Elizabeta walks to her window and begins singing softly.

“You’d better not let your parents hear you sing,” Samantha tells her. Liza notices her Irish accent.

Suddenly, there’s a bright flash of light, and Liza is wearing simply knee-high heeled boots, a skirt, and an indescribable top. Her hair is straight, falling straight down her back.

“Wow!” Samantha exclaims, staring at the girl.

“Do I have any special powers?” Liza asks herself. A voice inside her answers.

Singing paralyzes enemies,

“When I sing, it paralyzes my enemies!” Liza shouts.

“You can sing and paralyze the guards!” Samantha suggests.

“Yes! Listen, for helping me, I’m going to break you out of here. I’ll take you wherever you want to go,” Liza tells the woman.

“Thank you,” Samantha replies, tears coming to her eyes.

Liza quickly grabs anything of importance to her and stuffs it in a bag. She continues filling it with clothes. She swings the back on her back, and walks out of her room with Samantha following her.

“Mom, Dad, I’m going out for a ride. I’m gonna make this slave wash my horse,” Elizabeta snaps to her parents.

“Alright,” her father nods.

Liza walks out the door, surrounded by many guards and Samantha. She goes straight to the stalls, where she watches as Samantha fakely washes Spirit.

“Cover your ears!” Liza tells Samantha. The woman covers her ears as Liza begins singing random notes, making the guards fall to the ground. Liza jumps on the back of her horse, and quickly Samantha jumps on behind her.

Liza presses her heels into Spirit’s sides, and her horse begins running.

“Samantha, where do you want me to take you?” Liza asks.

“The town nearest wherever you’re going,” the woman answers.

Liza and Samantha ride for a while. Once they stop, they rest at an Inn.

A knock at the door makes Liza jump. She runs to the door. She finds her friend Lyle.

“How on earth did you get out of the kingdom?!” her werewolf friend asks.

“When I sing, I can paralyze people!” she announces proudly.

“I see,” Lyle replies.

“I’m gonna find someplace good to stay. I can’t keep traveling,” Liza tells him.

“I heard about an Academy for Princes and Princesses. It’s called Luccina Academy. You should head there,” Lyle informs her.

“I will. It sounds good. Where is it?” she asks.

Lyle hands her a map.

“How’d you know-” Liza begins.

“I had a feeling one of these days you’d find a way to break out,” the prince says, grinning.

Liza hugs him, telling him goodbye.

“Join me soon,” she declares.

“I will. I promise,” he assures.

“You better!” Liza giggles.

The next morning, Liza gets up, gets Samantha, and begins riding Spirit in search of the Academy.

She drops Samantha off at a nearby town and continues to Luccina Academy.

“This is my chance for a new start.”
