Only The Truth: Chp. 6

Cackling with laughter, Akiko looks over at Eito. He’s also laughing, at a joke he just made. All the charas are also laughing, but they all stop. Everyone also stops laughing, unsure what’s happening.

“What… What?” Akiko asks, a confused expression splayed on her face.

“It’s horrible!” Kokoro cries. Without a word, every single chara begins flying away.

Amu, Rima, Nagihiko, Tadase, Akiko, and Eito all begin to follow their charas. In the central shopping center, Ikuto, Utau, and Lulu all stand back-to-back. Ikuto’s playing his violin, Utau’s singing to Ikuto’s music, and Lulu’s… she’s throwing her necklaces to people.  There are a-lot of X eggs, and about 7 ? eggs. Immediately, everyone is transforming, but Akiko and Eito. Shiori looks at Akiko, nodding. Efude looks at Eito, nodding at him.

“My Heart: Unlock!” they both call out, flying into the air with their charas.

Shiori flies with her, somersaulting in the air, then going into her egg. Akiko grabs the egg, bringing to her chest. A bright flash of light brings white skinny-jeans with décor on it, and red, purple, and white layered tank-tops. Akiko kicks out one foot, then the other. With each kick, a black flat appears on her foot. A snap of the brunette’s fingers brings a black slouchy hat, with flowers like Shiori’s.

Eito and Efude fly up, and the chara with purple hair goes into his egg before winking. Eito grabs the egg, bringing it to his chest. Black jeans appear on the boy’s lower half, and then with a snap of his fingers, Eito gets a red t-shirt. Then, a black jacket appears on his body, unzipped. He flings up the hood, and then kicks out his feet, as if kicking something. Black converse appear, with red strings.

“Chara Nari: Word Genius!”
“Chara Nari: Picture Wise!”

Akiko and Eito grin over at each other, and then the two run towards the group of 3 people who are causing this mayhem.

The remaining charas, Miki, Suu, and Kokoro wait in a bush, hiding.

“Are you guys forgetting me?” Kukai calls, flying down on his hover board. He’s Sky Jack, and they all begin fighting X eggs and ? eggs. But Akiko and Eito are over by Ikuto, Utau, and Lulu.

Eito is trying to grab the violin from Ikuto’s hands. Akiko is fighting Lulu over her basket of necklaces. Ripping it from her hands, Akiko flings it into the sky. Once the necklaces hit the ground, Akiko says two words.

“Word Crush,” the brunette says, aiming one finger at the red-gemmed necklaces. The gems are crushed, and Akiko laughs.

“Akiko…! Help….!” Eito calls, still trying to pull the violin from Ikuto. Utau is helping Ikuto, yelling in anger.

Akiko grabs at the neck of the violin, pulling as hard as she can. She and Eito hear a sickening crack and Akiko stumbles back, holding the neck of the violin. Ikuto looks furious, but he doesn’t do anything.

“You better be happy that wasn’t actually my violin….,” Ikuto growls.

“Well, I’m not unhappy!” Akiko laughs, tossing the broken part of violin on the floor. The brunette and Eito run towards a ? egg, across the entire area. This one is just a girl, floating in the egg.

“Why doesn’t anyone care about me? My dreams are important! I matter!” the girl shouts, looking angry.

Unsure what to do, Akiko desperately looks to Eito. “Don’t look at me; I have no idea what to do!”

Akiko’s gaze switches back to the girl, who is still moping in her egg.

“Eito, I have a crazy idea. Maybe, if we work together, we’ll be able to come up with some move or something…,” Akiko says, staring at her black-haired friend.

“It is crazy…but… it just might work,” Eito replies, smiling. He steps right next to his friend, and they both aim their hands at the egg.

No, stupid, one hand each! Shiori’s voice yells in Akiko’s mind.

Akiko returns her right arm to her side, where it hangs. Eito’s left arm returns to his side. Akiko’s left hand is pointing at the egg, and Eito’s right hand is pointing at the egg.

“Picture Genius!” they both call, their hands together to make only a small gap between their hands. A flash of light shoots at the ? egg, and suddenly it’s purified.

They move to anther egg, doing the same motion.

Soon, the ? eggs have all been purified. “How on earth did two of them purify?” Amu demands.

“Eito and I have a move to purify them!” Akiko announces.

“Yeah, that’s great; Now we have X eggs to purify!” Tadase says urgently. The 7 Guardians turn their attention to the eggs.

“Tightrope Dancer!” Rima calls. She tries to tie some up, but fails.

“Tongue Tied!” Akiko calls, and ropes appear in her hands. They’re made of words, though. She throws them at the eggs, grouping 20 together at a time.

“Picture Perfect!” Eito shouts, throwing a paintbrush at the eggs. Quite a few freeze in mid-air, the drop to the ground.

Amu and Tadase go to work, positioning their staffs in an X.

“Platinum Heart!” they call together, purifying all the eggs.

All the eggs fly off, and everyone comes out of their transformation.

“Akiko; Eito, awesome job!” Tadase says, congratulating the two.

“Yaaay! We both transformed!” Akiko laughs, and in a sudden movement, hugs Eito. She quickly moves away, blushing profoundly. Eito is also blushing, and they both stand for a moment, awkwardly silent.

“Well…. Uhh I have to get home,” Akiko admits.

“Yeah… uh, me, too….,” Eito coughs.

“Bye, guys,” Akiko then states, waving and walking away with her charas.

“Bye,” Eito mutters, then jogs after Akiko.

“Mind if I walk with you?” Eito asks, grinning.

“Nope…..”
“Cool, ‘cause I was gonna do it anyways.”
“If we both live this way, it makes sense for us to walk together.”
“Yeah….”

Akiko reaches into her pocket, retrieving her iPod. She puts one earbud in, giving the other to Eito. He puts it in his ear, and Akiko selects a random song. Walking, the two listen to the music that is silent to everyone else. As the sun sets, the sky turns orange, red, purple, and pink.

“Look at the sunset. It’s so beautiful,” Eito mumbles, gazing at the sky.

Akiko looks at him, thinking she heard him mutter to himself, ‘Just like you…’ The brunette shakes her head, ridding the thought. How silly for me to think that!

“Yeah…. Sure is pretty!” Akiko agrees, smiling at her friend.

Eito takes a deep breathe, like he’s trying to say something but can’t get it out. “Something on your mind?” Akiko ponders.

“Akiko-chan…. I…. well, I…. Uhm…. There’s this girl…..,” he tries, unsure how to put it.

Is he…. What is he trying to tell me? Does… does he have a crush on me or something?

“There’s…. There’s this girl…. That I…. that I have a crush on. She’s so kind, and beautiful and smart…. But I’m afraid if I tell her, it’ll ruin everything. What do you think?” Eito asks.

“Well… I think you should tell her. I mean, if you like her that much, what’s the worst that can happen? She tells you she doesn’t like you back? You guys can still be friends,” Akiko replies, thinking hard on the matter.

“Really? Okay, thanks,” Eito mutters, staring at his feet.

“Anytime. Oh, here’s my house.”
“Oh. Well… bye.”
“Bye…. Good night.”
“Good night, Akiko-chan.”

The Ace walks into her home, closing the door behind herself. She traipses to her room, falling back on her bed.

Am I the girl Eito was talking about? Or is he talking about some other girl? If I was the girl, why didn’t he say something, then? Why am I even worrying about this?! I have better things to do than mope around and worry about the girl Eito was talking about!
